Ten £1 books produced to celebrate 10th World Book Day March 2007
In honour of World Book Day’s 10th Anniversary, ten stories by bestselling writers including Anthony Horowitz and Nick Arnold are being produced for children of all ages on World Book Day, 1st March 2007, priced individually at £1.
Over 13 million school children will receive a World Book Day £1 Book Token which can be exchanged for a World Book Day £1 Book between 26 February - 25 March or put towards any book or audio book costing £2.99 or more.
The World Book Day £1 Book Token is sponsored by National Book Tokens and redemptions are funded by bookshops across the country.
Each World Book Day £1 Book is suitable for a different age range, from pre-school to 11+ years, so every child can enjoy at least one of the unique books being produced to celebrate this special anniversary.
The ten World Book Day £1 Books are:
The Selfish Crocodile Counting Book by Michael Terry (0-5 years)A sturdy board book to teach every child their numbers from one to ten, with the help of the snappy and ever-popular Selfish Crocodile. A perfect introduction to numbers and counting.
Sharing a Shell Song Book by Julia Donaldson and Lydia Monks (3-5 years)Join Crab, Blob and Brush in the rock pool for a singsong adventure of sea, shells and friendship. Created especially for World Book Day, this delightful song is based on the hugely popular picture book Sharing a Shell with lyrics and melody by Julia Donaldson and vibrant illustrations by Lydia Monks. This year as in the previous nine years, The Joseph Clarke School for the Visually Impaired, in London, has received sponsorship from ‘Vision Charity’ to produce free copies of the books in Braille.
