Send to friendKathleen Lines has selected 13 fairy tales by Alison Uttley and very period they are, relying heavily on sailors with parrots, talking cuckoo clocks and old spice women. But the style is deliciously romantic and the pictures, by Ann Strugnell, all mob caps and sun bonnets, nicely capture the mood. Good for reading aloud.
