Over on the Farm

Using the form and pattern of a traditional rhyming nursery favourite, Christopher Gunson has fashioned a blissful exploration of the early morning activities of mothers and baby animals. Thus we have: one stretching kitten, two leaping sheep, three splashing froggies and so on to ten snuggling piggies. Both the rhyme and, in particular, the illustrations in glowing browns, greens, yellows, blues and pinks, are immediately engaging to children and adults of whatever age.
