It is a brave author who plunges into the mysteries of the teenager's world. Lamb succeeds better than most in unravelling the problems which most beset young people and presenting them in a lively and accessible manner. Her entertaining line drawings assist this process - even the most determinedly sullen adolescent cannot fail to be amused by her shrewdly observed caricatures. The guide is divided into five sections within which subdivisions are created by problems and suggested solutions. These are forthright and amusingly presented as 'bad', 'slightly better' and 'good', thus pointing up minefields to be avoided. The book is a handy size, easy to carry and with an appealing and hardwearing cover. It is likely to provide both solace and entertainment to the troubled teenager.
