Snore!

The reader can almost smell the countryside in the drawings of the farm and its inhabitants in this picture book. The story opens at dusk, with all the animals sleeping peacefully, until dog begins to snore. How can they stop him? Try as they might, the animals cannot make dog sleep quietly. He wakes at cock-crow and trots off down the road after his good night’s sleep. A typical Rosen surprise ending, for the exhausted animals then slump into sleep and all that can be heard is snore! snore! snore! The print is bold and clear throughout, with lots of animal noises to join in with.
