The discovery of a cave in the cliffs by Laura, a large shaggy sheepdog, turns the family picnic into an adventure in which everyone plays a part. The economy of words and profusion of fine pen and ink drawings with which this story is told, make what looks like a 'proper' book accessible to learner readers, and a most appealing one it is.
