'Infectious' reads the recommendation from 'Reader's Digestion' on the back cover of this quirky picture book. Pox is a little germ sent to infect a small child on her birthday. But don't worry, he is really a good germ and saves the day. Much of the text is tiresomely difficult to read on swirly green or pink backgrounds. And as for plot or moral ending to this tale, or even an understanding of how a 'good' germ differs from a bad one, we are left completely baffled. Perhaps the book's chief purpose is to act as a springboard to propel you elsewhere to find out about how the body deals with infection.
