The children we meet in this series have a positive outlook on life and are honest about their limitations. Real children, seen within the context of their families and with their friends, talk about the special equipment they need, the things they enjoy doing, and the medical interventions that are necessary. Quality design and production, along with easily-read print and colour photographs (admittedly rather 'staged') make the good information easily grasped. These are attractive books that will help children understand classmates' health problems, as well as providing learning tools such as an index, a brief glossary and some useful organisations for providing more information.
