In this large format picture book with clear print on creamy paper, creatures come in different shapes and sizes and they find different kinds of food appetizing. We see a baby bird scoffing a big pink worm, a fledgling owl gulping down a rat head first and two baby seabirds tussling over a raw fish. Would your baby fancy any of this? A good rhythmic text gives us the answer! Each page begins with 'What's for supper?' and ends with 'That's not our baby's supper!' Robust pictures - quite loosely coloured but defined by a bold line - show us baby creatures with their (to us) unappealing meals. The last illustration shows them getting their own back, yelling 'Yuck!' at the human baby's supper - a mug of milk. Big and bold enough to read to a group in the nursery classroom, this book will also be perfect for sharing at home.
