This is the second book about the amadans, small fairy-like creatures who travel from another world via the SuperHighway to emerge into our world through computer screens. To fully understand this sequel, I recommend reading the first volume – there’s quite a lot of assumed knowledge here.

The story starts with the theft of a bicycle: the adventures that accompany its recovery and the bringing to redemption of the thieves, helped by the amadans, are recounted at speed and with all the wee diversions and asides you expect from Irish writers like Doyle. There’s lots of humour as disaster piles on disaster – some superfluous action, but generally a good rollicking read for 10 pluses. AG
