Strange events concerning bears, dragons and a fire star with mysterious powers are the ingredients of the third book in d’Lacey’s series. When author David Rain goes to the Arctic to write a book, the ‘real’ world and the world of his novel begin to intersect. And this is only the beginning of a series of other very strange occurrences which eventually all link to each other.

Lucy Pennykettle is abducted by sibyl Gwilanna to serve her sinister ends, but Lucy’s mother Liz and her troupe of dragons are to be reckoned with. David and Liz set to, to discover how Gwilanna conspires to unleash a sleeping dragon’s fire with catastrophic results for the world. Meanwhile, in the Arctic, David’s girlfriend, Zanna, battles with other powerful forces.

The action in Fire Star moves and swirls dramatically; there is never a dull moment. However, readers are warned that it would be a good idea to read the two preceding novels (The Fire Within, Icefire) before embarking on this particular fantasy journey. VC
