Bright and colourful, this sturdy pop-up will appeal to the youngest audience from three years and up. The rhyming text romps along, silly but ideal for reading aloud, with plenty of opportunities for noisy joining-ins (‘SPLISH…WHIZZ…BOING…BURP’). A collection of swamp animals that include water buffalo, piranha fish, flamingos and warthogs might seem an unpromising bunch, but they are brought to life with clever pop-ups of beaks a-snapping, teeth a-crunching and frogs’ legs a-leaping. Three cheers for the paper engineer Martin Taylor!
