Boudica
Compact and colourful, this lively biography of the Queen of the Iceni is just what is needed to bring the subject to life for readers of 7 and up struggling to make sense of early British history. Boudica inevitably crops up as a favourite topic in this strand of the History Curriculum, so teachers and pupils alike will be pleased to find such an approachable resource. Pictorial maps are included as well as reconstructions of Londinium and Colchester, examples of the archaeological evidence and reference to historical sources such as Tacitus. Richard Brassey’s lively artwork is punctuated with speech bubbles to add another level of interest, while the text sets Boudica in her historical context.
