DK have a strong reputation for producing photographic books for infants and toddlers. In Chunky, bumpy, dumpy Trucks a new element has been introduced, whereby six trucks are printed on die cast cards. This creates chunky jigsaw pieces that children can pull out and explore. Helpful suggestions for what to do with the truck are included on each page. For example, ‘Park this dump truck in the quarry and tip out its load – with a crash!’ An additional ‘touch and feel’ element has also been included. This is often overwhelmed by the bright photographic images on which they have been placed. These new additions may not be particularly successful, but the underlying recipe is already a winner. Vre
