Children, but especially boys will find this three-in-one story book very entertaining. Dirty Bertie is a grubby trouble magnet. We follow him causing mayhem, as a soil smeared worm, attending girly classmate Angela’s Pink Party, wrapped in his sister’s pink sleeping bag (no fairy wings, tutus or pink T shirt for Bertie!). Next, we see Bertie trying to outwit Know-All-Nick Payne in an attempt to win a good manners prize on National Courtesy Day, as judged by local librarian, Miss Prim. Finally, Bertie gets into bother with his family, particularly his mother, when he throws her flower arrangement entry for the village summer fair in the bin and has to replace it with his own, hideous, but ultimately award winning exhibit! Lots of grime. Plenty of chaos. Strong illustrations. Great fun! AK
