The third in the Melrose and Croc series, Friends for Life sees the two friends, a yellow dog and a baby crocodile, revealing what they like and dislike about each other.

‘“I like the way you listen to me when I’m talking,” said Little Green Croc.
“I like the way you help me when I need you,” said Melrose.’

Dislikes include being messy and noisy.

Little Green Croc eventually reveals he wishes he was more like his golden Labrador friend, Melrose, who in turn wisely points out that Croc wouldn’t be Croc if he were more like him. Friends for Life is delightfully charming. Perfect for bedtime reading, or for use in the classroom, it deals brilliantly with the issues of the ‘importance of being me’ and ‘how to be a friend’. It is simple and economic with both text and illustration. The other titles in this series are Melrose and Croc and Melrose and Croc Find a Smile. AK
