Traditional Stories from Native North America

This picture-book collection opens with a true contemporary story of a Native American who drives to a remote desert gravel pit and is visited by an ancestral ghost. The rest of the stories are traditional nature, trickster, moral and creation stories, each selected as emblematic of the large corpora of tales from diverse populations from across the vastness of the continent. The illustrations are as richly diverse as the stories, each of which is accompanied by brief notes and maps.
