1969-70s Flower Power and politics are explored here with liberal doses of hippy philosophy and thought. Stephen, an aimless, middle class 18-year-old, is a ripe recruit for the new experiments in living and loving. Just because he is unable to find his way he has a vulnerability which others, including the sinister cult leader Spencer and the Official Authorities are all too ready to exploit.

The novel is slow, the philosophising dull and there are times when you’d like to give them all a good slap! Nevertheless, there might be teenagers out there who are prepared to be intrigued (and probably appalled) by the way their parents and grandparents were in the past – or – they might wonder what all the fuss was about! A few mild sexual references and lots of dope included.
