Bees are incredibly hard workers and teamwork is the key to their successful gathering of honey. Not so in this tale. SLURP! SLURP! BURP! goes the Greedy Bee as he hogs all the best nectar sites. He grows fatter and fatter until he is unable to take flight. With a tummy so stodgy and podgy he is earth-bound, and frightened as night falls. Rescued by a couple of friendly fireflies and a few ants he is kindly shown the way home. Concern at the hive over his absence causes him to realise his selfishness, so he decides that in future he will share his best honey with them all. The bold pictures are much larger than life, full of cheerful colour, and hold just the right balance between scariness and kindness for the youngest child.
