Patrick sits with his aunt and paints a picture of the field before them. The animals that he sees are all different colours. His aunt shows him how to mix new colours. The bold images are highly effective in conveying the key educational information. The story manages to hold the reader until the end. This is a delightful and effective way to introduce children to colours and their use.
