Before Wings
Angels, wings and spirits hover throughout this crafted, thoughtful novel; caught between life and death, just like Adrien, who could have a second aneurysm at any moment. The uncertainty of her life is compounded by first love whilst she works at her aunt’s summer camp in Canada and by a mystery which the spirit world seems to want to reveal, some unfinished business from 20 years ago.
There is something inspirational about the understated plotting and writing, which sensitive readers will access and savour.
