Lucy Goosey has been playing happily in the same pond all her short gosling life. When the time comes to fly away, she is so terrified of getting lost in the huge sky that she refuses to leave with the others. However, being left behind proves to be just as scary. But of course, Lucy’s mother comes back for her and reassures her that she will be safe on the journey.

This is a cosy feel good picture book, about a child’s fear of the unknown, and how a mother’s unconditional love can make anything possible. Great, vibrant pastel illustrations burst affectionately from each rich spread. There is real warmth here.
