This follow up book to Yuck! uses the rhythm of a traditional rhyme to introduce the concept of the food chain: each creature we meet is eaten up by a yet bigger creature.
Several qualities give this picture book considerable appeal for very young children. Each creature is delineated with an expressively thick line which combines with a vibrant use of colour so that the illustrations shine out. Large arresting print surrounds the pictures and children will love joining in the repetition of the word ‘Snap!’ as each creature is grabbed and devoured by its predator. With its pace and humour this will become a favourite at home and in the nursery class.
