Lulu loves her shoes. On each double page spread you see Lulu doing different things in her different types of shoes. Text isn’t so important in a touch and feel book. The emphasis is clearly on the illustrations and the interactive design. Ailie Busby’s illustrations are in the ‘as if done by child’ genre. They are overwhelmed by the interactive components (velcro, spot lamination, shiny inserts and a real shoelace). Given that most six-year olds can’t tie their laces, I don’t think that any toddler will be tying it any time soon.
