If I Were You
Illustrated by Babette Cole
A bedtime exchange between Daisy and her father sets off an extended conversation wherein each entertains various possibilities, ‘If you were me and I were you’. Starting with the fairly ordinary, their musings become ever more fantastical, culminating in an after (somewhat wild) party bath and hair wash for Dad, and the dawning realisation for Daisy, of just how much is involved in being Dad. Cole’s entertaining illustrations extend the rhyming storylines with visual stories of her own.
