Tim and Tig
Illustrated by Judy Watson
Aunt Ethel gives Tim a lovely stripy kitten for his birthday – but it comes with a warning – it must not be fed meat. Alas, Tim and his parents do not heed the warning, and end up with a full grown, very friendly tiger. Cue for plenty of chaos, as Tim and his parents do not see why people are afraid of their lovely cat! All works out in the end, of course, but not before both sides have given and also taken timely advice from each other. Great fun for reading aloud as well as accessible with its large typeface, to beginner readers. The humour inherent in Watson’s well integrated illustrations adds to the enjoyment of the book.
