This robust, telephone directory thick animal alphabet extravaganza uses every trick in the book to grab and hold the reader’s interest. On each double page spread there are animals to search for and for every letter, various textures rough and smooth, flaps to open, tabs to push or pull, sparkly holographic patches, a pop-up poster in the back cover and a rhythmic, often rhyming text with built-in opportunities for sound making, plus an alphabetic index.

Illustrated in a rather cartoon style, this is certainly not a first alphabet book but one to move on to and one that offers learning opportunities in many areas as well as lots of fun.
