The current knitting revival gives this picture book, illustrated in a collage of fabrics, yarn, stitching and watercolour, beautiful raspberry garterstitch endpapers to introduce the story of Milo, who is definitely not the pink fluffy rabbit Tallulah wants for her birthday. Instead, he’s an armadillo, knitted by an eccentric Gran. Tallulah, in the way of such stories, grows to love him, idiosyncrasies and all. Not a storyline of great originality then, but one of those affectionate feelgood ones, nicely depicted in collage style, with lots of knitting to spot, and a website reference should you wish to knit your own Milo.
