One night a very large and very noisy dragon turns up in a baby’s room. The dragon is looking for treasure, but eventually, charmed by the baby’s refusal to be awed by him, he realises he has a greater treasure in the baby. Fearnley’s softly drifting line and watercolour flow across the landscape-format double-page spreads, capturing the interaction between dragon and baby; this is especially effective in the scenes where the dragon takes the baby with him to fly through the night sky.

Very young children will be reassured by a comforting story in which the monster turns out to have a soft heart.
