This Brothers Grimm story has been transported to an African setting to relate the mystery of the princesses and their worn out shoes. The King offers a reward to any man who can tell him how his twelve daughters can possibly go dancing every night when they sleep in a locked room. Of course, one such comes along to outwit the princesses and follow them (unbeknownst, as he has an invisibility cloak) to their secret dancing place. The illustrations are vibrant, full of texture and pattern, evocative of Africa and quite a feast for the eyes. The font is pleasingly different from the norm but clear and well-placed with the illustrations. A book that will appeal to many young readers.
