Quentin Blake’s Magical Tales
Illustrated by Quentin Blake
This is a collection of ‘little known’ traditional tales from around the world each lavishly illustrated by Quentin Blake, with full pages in colour and monochrome vignettes. It has a feel of the Andrew Lang story collections, with just enough ‘three brothers’ and ‘beautiful princesses’ alongside selfless acts that are rewarded and jealousy and greed that are punished to be enjoyably satisfying. This would be a lovely gift book as it provides some unfamiliar stories, beautifully retold for those who enjoy traditional tales.
