Though not without amusing touches, this book is not of the same standard as the Armitages' The Bossing of Josie and The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch; the storyline: how Rosie copes with the problem of getting fresh supplies of ice-cream to her island shop, is less powerful. However, the book with its well designed pages, use of bubble talk and comic strip is visually attractive and could well be useful for those who are put off by too much printed text.
