This is rather more a mood poem than a story: the black and white pictures with their patches of yellow light and the text combine to create an atmosphere of homeliness as 'goodnight' falls on the city. The words are printed in white against a black background and as well as being the perfect bedtime book (which it is) this is ideal for those in the early stages of learning to read.
