A reprint of this popular retelling of a traditional Russian folk tale. Baboushka is so preoccupied by the dailiness of her life that she misses seeing the Christmas star, misses her chance of joining the three kings of their journey. She is too late for everything but continues her wandering search giving the toys in her basket (intended for the holy child) to good sleeping children. Bright, decorative illustrations make this a most attractive version of the story.
