Squirrel just cannot think of anything to send his mother for her birthday except a birthday card, but then he has a brainwave and a huge parcel duly arrives on the his mother's doorstep. But inside the parcel is another parcel and another and so on until we discover exactly why squirrel told this mother 'Be sure to open it right away'. Unmistakable Aruego/Dewey illustrations - strong clean colours and animals whose facial expression tell all - and an easy to read text together make a delightful package.
