Tony Bradman's rhymes certainly reflect the moods, tantrums and preoccupations of very young children but I found myself totally unable to read them aloud with any conviction. Nor did I warm to Sumiko's insipid illustrations of the incidents in a day in the life of two preschoolers and their mummy and daddy. I found it altogether too cosy.
