Poor Tom goes through a phase of suffering from nightmares. It makes no difference when his mum explains that they can't hurt him - he knows that, but it doesn't make them go away. Then mum comes up with the idea of giving him good dreams instead - a temporary solution for, when Tom goes to stay with his friend, the problem seems to solve itself. The nicely-caught dialogue is the main strength of this story which is probably best shared between parent and child.
