Mog in the Dark

This book has been specially written for beginner readers using only fifty words but I have to admit I found the text disappointingly stilted. In my experience many children tend to alter the words in places to make the story flow to their satisfaction presumably, but they all certainly enjoy Judith Kerr's splendid illustrations of one of their favourite characters and his 'family'; Mog's expressions in particular are sheer delight. So, yes I have reservations but the book is still worth having for the pictures alone.
