Dad relieves the tedium of his job by building robots but his inventions - a robotic grasscutter, a hush-a-bye baby improver and 'one for seeing old ladies across the road' (and many others) - are not appreciated by mum or anyone else for they never quite work as intended. In the end, though, all these creations are the means to a life of luxury thanks to a TV programme and a very rich Arab. A diverting piece of nonsense: easy-to=read and with a wide age appeal.
