A fairy story with all the traditional ingredients: a hero, a beleaguered princess, spellbound humans and, of course, a wicked ogre. The hero is simple in worldly ways, but lion-hearted where good intentions are concerned. The happy ending is guaranteed! A pleasant story for children who are gaining reading prowess, and the coloured illustrations and limited bold text enhance the value of the book.
