This was a bit fey for the tastes of my down-to-earth bunch. It is a very attractively illustrated dream sequence sort of story in which we journey through the night, through various landscapes. The children listened and watched attentively but there was little comment and the book has not often been chosen for reading. When I asked why it was not popular, some week or two later, the general opinion was that 'there's no story'.

The book seems to fall between two stools... not poetic enough to be poetry and not shaped enough to be story. However it is interesting and your children might respond differently. It would be worth trying.
