Blitzcat

Blitzcat is a feline Nomad in search of an owner who is embroiled in the murderous misery of cross-Channel bombing raids. Her quest takes her through firestorm and blizzard, in and out of the lives and deaths of people suffering the long convulsion of war. Passion and violence are depicted vividly, as are humour, courage and human warmth.

This is a fantastic book in all senses of the word. It's very exciting and very moving. Some aspects of the story are incredibly strange, but no more so than the painfully true stories told by survivors of the conflict. Warmly recommended for older children and all adults.
