A cheerful, rhyming story with strong influence from 'The House That Jack Built', telling of the time that Bear fell in the dustbin and got carted off to the tip. A rescue operation by his owner ends happily. Neatly told and clearly printed, the main text is easy to read and speech bubbles add extra interest to the pleasant drawings. Good first reading for the just-becoming-independent, as well as for the reciter-from-memory.
