Bad Egg: The True Story of Humpty Dumpty
Illustrated by Charlotte Voake
Great fun, as Humpty challenges the King's horses and men to do tricks on the wall and then roars with laughter as they go crashing down. His come-uppance was greeted with satisfied nods and peals of laughter. Text and illustrations work beautifully together and it was interesting that some of the children commented that the 'writing was thin and just right'! A cautionary note - it didn't work well with younger Nursery children who disliked the rhyme being tampered with!
