Gate-Crashing the Dream Party
Topical - after failing all her GCSEs, Robina runs away to Bristol and during an intense few days reflects on her dream world and reality while trying to cope with a new reality which threatens to turn into a nightmare. The early sections, where italicised dream sections frequently break in, might be off-putting. But in Bristol and with Vern, a fascinating boy of the streets, we have a novel which begins to engage with harsher discords.
