One of those books that will be returned to again and again. George, Kate's older brother, delights in alarming her. Kay Chorao gives us a very sensitive portrayal of Kate's fears and uncertainty over whether to believe him. Her relief, in each of the three chapters when comforting reality unfolds, is touching and left quite a few Georges I know with rather thoughtful expressions on their faces.
