The sensitive reader will find many depths to fathom in this thoughtfully-written short novel. The discovery of a dead hare, which Harry and Sarah carry to school, triggers off two stories that jigsaw in a most satisfying and unusual way. It would serialize well for a class to listen to and should provoke discussion a-plenty about man's custodianship of the earth and its creatures.
