Any book by Ruth Brown is a visual treat and this is undoubtedly that. Beautiful, richly-coloured toys adorn the pages and the story, told in rhyme, is about a doll's anxiety and jealousy when a puppy comes to stay and seems to take over the affection of her owner. All ends satisfactorily, though, for after a gambol with the puppy she's finally tucked up in bed with the little girl. A delightful book and one which might, indirectly, help some bruised feelings at the arrival of a new baby.
