This, predictably I suppose, must rate as one of the most popular books this year, according to the borrowing rate and the number of children who've chosen to write glowing reviews. Nicola is a wonderfully subversive heroine, deciding in a number of very public places that knickers are not for her. After several hilarious events convince her that she should wear them, it's on her own terms and in her own good time that she deigns to do so! No heavyweight this one, but great fun!
