Michael Rosen tunes in accurately to young children's minds and lives. His London voice is friendly and his language colloquial and rhythmical. Everyday subjects are treated with zest and humour: he finds onomatopoeia in the splodge, splodge of the sauce bottle and makes everyday complaints of lost shoes, scratchy jumpers and tidying bedrooms very funny.
